HOWEVER DEREK here at airforce we have to strongly disagree with you. Wear a helmet as a novice yes good idea. Instead of wearing a board leash we strongly advise to spend time perfecting your upwind bodydraging. After all worse case scenario a new board is cheaper than new teeth or time of work due to broken bones from these death trap contraptions. Plus the reel leash on this video is constantly marketed as the safest option. In summary keep the helmet if you wish lose the leash.
